Loes & The Celtic Link
"The Celtic Link" is a collective of professional musicians, fronted by vocalist Loes van Schaijk, who have a residency at Prague's finest Irish bars: The Irish Times and The Dubliner. Their repertoire consists of over a hundred Irish, Scottish, and English pub songs, ballads, and tunes made famous by The Dubliners, The Pogues, Paul Brady, Solas, The Cranberries, Foy Vance, Van Morrison, Lau, Christy Moore, Dougie MacLean, Flogging Molly, and The Waterboys. Add to that over a hundred classic pop hits as well as original songs written by Loes van Schaijk and Honza Bartošek, and there's plenty to choose from to suit the mood for your Celtic event.
You're going to have to listen very closely if you want to hear the ever-so-slight accent that gives away that Loes is not Irish, but Dutch. Though chances are you're not going to notice it anyway, because you will be too busy singing along the entire time.
Some frequently heard remarks from the audience:
"When are you coming to Ireland?"
"You just played my favorite song!"
"We just came in for one pint but stayed for three hours because of you!"
"Where do you find all these bodhrán players?"
"Would you come play at our wedding?"
