


Originally from the Netherlands, Loes van Schaijk is a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist based in Prague, Czech Republic. When she sings, she pours her heart and soul into it and connects with the audience by making them smile, cry, think, and sing along.
Loes currently performs her original material in various formations:
* SOLO (singer-songwriter),
* As a DUO with Honza Bartošek (energetic acoustic),
* As an acoustic TRIO (progressive bluegrass & Celtic elements)
* Or with a full BAND (acoustic pop, americana, fusion)
Collaborations and cover/tribute projects include:
* Cake and Ale (female vocal harmony trio)
* The Celtic Link (predominantly Irish/Scottish trad songs and tunes)
* Quartet with Pavlína Jíšová, Jaroslav Matějů, and Honza Bartošek
* Country/tramp/jazz with Jitka Vrbová's Niagára
* Jan Řepka and his Bájsykl Band (musicians touring on bicycles and singing songs about... bicycles)
* Fleetwood Mac Tribute (in preparation)
* Present-Day Troubadours (collaboration with Bulgarian songwriters)
Bluegrass Book
Loes researched the Dutch bluegrass scene in the first half of the 2010s and published the book "High Lonesome Below Sea Level," with black-and-white photography by Marieke Odekerken, in 2014. Order a physical copy or read it online HERE.
