Originally from the Netherlands, Loes van Schaijk is a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist based in Prague, Czech Republic. When she sings, she pours her heart and soul into it and connects with the audience by making them smile, cry, think, and sing along.

Loes performs solo, as a duo with Honza Bartošek, or with a professional back-up band assembled specifically for the occasion (Loes & The Celtic Link for Irish/Celtic events or Loes Bluegrass Band for bluegrass/country/americana events).

The show "Basa má čas" puts the spotlight on the double bass in the capable hands of Miloš Klápště and adds a bit of blues and jazz to Loes's pop-folk-americana mix.

Loes's lyrics have been translated into Czech by Anna Marie Hradecká, Jan Řepka, and Marej Vojtěch, and into Bulgarian by Plamen Sivov.

Loes has a show in collaboration with singer-songwriter Jan Řepka and she occasionally joins his Bájsykl Band (= musicians touring by bicycle) as a guest.

Loes and Honza also have a show in collaboration with Pavlína Jíšová and Jaroslav Matějů titled "Matěj, Pavla, Loes, Jan: potkali se u..." and contains original songs by all four songwriters, many of were made famous in the Czech Republic by the bands Nezmaři and Žalman & Spol.

Another Czech legend Loes has the honor of performing alongside is Jitka Vrbová & Niagara.

Loes is also a part of the show "Holky na tahu" with Blondýna and Barbara Štěpánová produced by PSM Productions.

The country music show "Tribute to Loretta Lynn" is a selection of Loes's favorite Loretta Lynn songs (including her duets with Conway Twitty and others) and is played by Loes with special guests.

Loes has toured Bulgaria with the singer-songwriter collective "Present-Day Troubadours" and is currently working on a joint tour with the indie-rock band People of Maha

Loes and her collective The Celtic Link are resident musicians of The Irish Times Bar and The Dubliner in the centre of Prague. They perform there several times a week.

Loes researched the Dutch bluegrass scene in the first half of the 2010s and published the book "High Lonesome Below Sea Level," with black-and-white photography by Marieke Odekerken, in 2014.

Loes is a certified and experienced music and language teacher
